Welcome to Caboolture Cruise & Travel

Hawaii: Aloha Adventure

There’s something deeply uplifting about returning to a place that feels like sunshine for the soul—and after years of grounded planes and closed borders, Hawaii was calling louder than ever.

As travel advisors, we believe in experiencing destinations first-hand, so we can share genuine insights with our clients. And what better place to kick off our return to international travel than Hawaii? Just as the world was beginning to reopen, three of us - sun-chasing, adventure-loving, and slightly starved for new horizons - set off for a quick but joy-packed escape to Oʻahu.

From the moment we touched down, that warm island breeze wrapped around us like a welcome-home hug. The energy was electric, the skies clear, and a glistening blue ocean just waiting to be dived into. Our base? The iconic Marriott Waikiki Beach Resort, perfectly positioned across from the famous shoreline, giving us easy access to sunrises, surf, and shaved ice within minutes of stepping outside.

Cruising in Style: Our Convertible Jeep

No island road trip is complete without the right set of wheels, so we embraced full aloha vibes by picking up a convertible Jeep. With the roof down and music up, we felt like movie stars zipping through Honolulu’s vibrant streets and breezy coastal roads.

Waikiki was our first stop—naturally. The area is buzzing with life, from surfers balancing their boards along Kalākaua Avenue, to the scent of garlic shrimp and coconut wafting through the air. We spent the day exploring the iconic beachfront, people-watching, shopping, and indulging in Hawaii’s best eats.

A Taste of Tradition: Polynesian Show & Luʻau

That evening, we made our way into downtown Honolulu for a traditional Hawaiian lūʻau experience, complete with a spectacular Polynesian cultural show. The rhythmic beat of the pahu drums, graceful hula performances, and dramatic fire-knife dancing under the stars reminded us why Hawaii is so much more than just beaches—it’s a place of rich history and living culture.

Our lūʻau dinner featured slow-roasted kalua pork, poi, island-style mahi-mahi, and lomi-lomi salmon—all served with a side of island hospitality. As we sipped Mai Tais and watched the sunset paint the sky in orange and lavender hues, it was hard not to feel completely spellbound.

Exploring Oʻahu with Shaka Guide

We didn’t want to leave any stone unturned, so the next day we turned to a brilliant app called Shaka Guide. This self-guided driving tour gave us the perfect way to explore the island at our own pace—no rigid schedule, just good company, stunning views, and local stories pouring through the speakers like we had our own personal Hawaiian guide in the car.

We decided on a shortened version of the Oʻahu Grand Circle Island Tour, skipping Pearl Harbor this time around so we could focus on natural beauty, foodie stops, and hidden gems.

With ukulele tunes and island legends narrating our route, we cruised along scenic coastal roads, pulling over whenever the mood struck us. The Shaka Guide didn’t just provide directions—it told the story of each place, connecting us to the land and its traditions in a meaningful way.

Roadside Delights & Local Flavours

One of our favourite aspects of the road trip? Food trucks. Hawaii is famous for its vibrant food truck culture, and we made the most of every opportunity to try something new and delicious. At one stop, we devoured garlic butter shrimp so good it made us consider moving to the North Shore permanently.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about sharing a picnic table under the palms, trading bites and travel stories as the waves crash nearby.

Beaches, Blowholes & Beauty Spots

Highlights along the way included the breathtaking Halona Blowhole, a powerful ocean geyser that sprays high into the air with each crashing wave; Makapuʻu Lookout, with sweeping views of the sea cliffs; and the serene sands of Lanikai Beach, which looked like a postcard come to life. Soft powdery sand, impossibly clear turquoise water—it was the kind of place you never want to leave.

We also loved a quick stop at the Byodo-In Temple, a peaceful Buddhist temple nestled at the base of the Koʻolau Mountains. Ringing the sacred bell and walking the gardens brought a sense of calm to the day—proof that Hawaii nourishes both body and spirit.

A Quick Escape That Meant Everything

While it was a short trip, it reminded us just how transformative travel can be—even in just a few days. Hawaii offers that perfect blend of adventure, culture, and pure relaxation, all wrapped in warm aloha spirit.

We left with salt in our hair, sand in our shoes, and a refreshed sense of purpose—ready to help our clients experience the magic for themselves.
